About

The Quality of the Universe

Art connects the quality of human feelings with other qualities in the universe. This connection is subjective; therefore, there can be individual differences. Consequently, art provides a road to the universe, life, and meanings for humans and any individual. As claimed before, the value of an artwork does not lie on the meaning we associate with it, but rather they act as a medium that we can associate meanings with. More importantly, we associate meanings through the firstness method, that is, by allowing people to have a strong and rich aesthetic experience. The initial perception is of a firstness nature, so is the final aesthetic feeling. This quality of appealing to firstness means that art is directly associated with human desires. Humans expend all their abilities and use whatever way they have to simulate the feeling of orgasm. Out of all those methods, art is the most direct and relatively easy method. Many wishes and desires that people have are hard to be achieved in reality. However, those desires can be fulfilled through the imitation of the arts. Therefore, artworks provide us with satisfaction, and this is its tangible value. Through the similarity and continuity between the quality of arts, the quality that people feel, and the quality of the universe, people can grasp a general feeling of the universe. Like holography, we can see the whole image by just looking at a part of it; from the effect of some qualities, we can understand the effect of qualities in general. In my work, from a little puddle, we can see the entire universe.
